A ‘Secular’ group on Facebook got their panties in a wad over an Easter greeting posted by Arizona Governor Doug Ducey.
They spouted the usual crap about “separation of church and state”, and public officials “promoting their religious views”….blah…blah….blah…
Governor Ducey responds:
Good for him.
The ‘secular’ crowd wets themselves when Christians and Jews do this, but quite frankly, I’ve never seen them go ballistic when a muslim politician touts their holidays or their god on social media and in public.
They primarily pounce on Christians.
Case in point: Rashida Tlaib praised her prophet mohammad at a reception for terrorist-facilitating CAIR, reciting the “War Cry of Allah”.
Not a peep out of the seculars.
Obama made it a point to praise Islam.
As a matter of fact, the muzzie ass-kisser dedicated an entire White House message to wish them a ‘Happy Eid-ul-Fitr’.
He feted the terrorist-facilitating Muslim Brotherhood at the White House, sent muslims greetings from the White House on their holidays, and quoted the Qur’an.
Again, not a whimper out of the group. They could have mounted a huge social media campaign out of that.
Ilhan Omar tweeted this not long after the Benghazi attack:
But, no wailing or gnashing of teeth.
If they need to find a legitimate cause for their secular indignation, look no further than the population that would take their freedom of speech and their life, not hurt their feelings with a biblical scripture.
Fact: Islam is diametrically opposed to democracy. Under the muzzie point of view, Sharia Law trumps all other laws. It’s meant to overtake and replace all Western civil, criminal, and government jurisdiction. They’re not interested in peace, tolerance, or coexistence. They want a worldwide Caliphate, including the United States. They back up their religious rhetoric with violence.
Assimilation is not on their itinerary.
That, along with the world-wide carnage they inflict, should send the seculars into a frenzy whenever they spot one of their religious comments on social media.
Not a single one of them can support their complaints with a concise Constitutional clause. Their entire premise is based on petty grievances, selective outrage, and semantics.
It takes a pretty sophisticated set of cerebral blinders to keep their group operating in a vacuum.
The “wall of separation” is a concept taken totally out of context. It was a statement written in a private letter by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptist Association in 1802 and has been misused ever since. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Constitution.
The 1st Amendment to the Constitution protects the rights of all American citizens to freely speak, worship, and print opinions.
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
The government is not permitted to establish a religion. In other words, they cannot legislate religion into law. That does not mean that a public official can’t express their faith and wish people a Merry Christmas, Happy Easter, Happy Passover, Happy Rosh Hashanah, etc. That includes inserting a scripture to accompany the greeting. Anyone who gets triggered by that needs to learn context.
Public officials are not exempt from expressing their religious faith. The President hosts a national prayer breakfast every year, attended by prominent religious leaders from the Christian faith. I’m sure that sends the seculars into grand mal seizures.
Bottom line: In this country, people are free to express themselves and those who object can do so in kind.
Not only does Gov Ducey have the Constitutional right to express his holiday wishes, he also has the right to post them wherever and whenever he pleases. With or without a scripture.
