SEIU Thug Andy Stern Calls Senate ObamaCare Opponents, Campaign Spending Supporters, ‘Terrorists’

This is a lot of gall, coming from the head of a union that specializes in terrorizing free speech proponents at Townhalls.

The Supreme Court’s decision to strike down corporate campaign-spending restrictions is a disaster, said Andy Stern, president of the second-largest labor union in the U.S.

“This is a moral disaster, it is a policy disaster and it is a practical disaster,” Stern, who runs the 2.2 million member Service Employees International Union, said in response to questions at a jobs forum in Washington today. “This is going to bring an onslaught, if nothing changes, of an unlimited corporatization of our economy.”

No. It will bring unrestricted legal participation in the funding of candidates, and a full disclosure of the contributions.

A divided Supreme Court last week struck down decades-old limits on corporate and union campaign spending, reversing two of its precedents and freeing companies to conduct advertising campaigns that explicitly try to sway voters. Labor unions had been subject to the same restrictions and may also now expand political spending. Stern says unions have to find the resources.

“Now we have the right to spend unlimited money,” Stern said. “Unfortunately we don’t have unlimited money.”

Horseshit. Stern’s SEIU poured millions into Obama’s run for office. And it looks like a portion of the $787 Billion “stimulus” will be allocated for SEIU’s coffers.

……Stern also said today that union members would lose their enthusiasm to help re-elect Democrats to Congress in the November mid-term elections if lawmakers don’t deliver on stalled health-care and labor law agendas. Union members would be likely to focus their campaign energy on state governor races, he said.

Stern criticized Senators Joe Lieberman, a Connecticut independent, and Ben Nelson, a Nebraska Democrat, who have stalled legislative action with their objections.

“There are a lot of terrorists in the Senate who think we are supposed to negotiate with them when they have their particular needs that they want met,” Stern said.

Newsflash, Andy: ‘We the people’ had a hand in stalling Obama’s attempt at government control of our health care. You know, the Tea Party members and millions of other ordinary citizens who object to the socialist takeover of our freedoms.
Andy is off the reservation. Expect the SEIU punks to ratchet up the hate rhetoric and violence during the 2010 mid-term election. And watch the meltdown as their lackeys in Congress and Senate are sent home. At least least 36 of the 100 seats in the Senate are being contested. All members of the House will face re-election in 2010.
