Senate Dems Pass Bloated ‘Farm Bill’ With $760 Million for Food Stamps

The Senate on Monday passed a five-year farm bill that promises to cut “$24 billion from farm spending over 10 years, including a $4 billion reduction to food stamps.”The legislation, S. 954, the Agriculture Reform, Food, and Jobs Act of 2013 was approved by the Senate 66-27, with more than 15 Republicans joining the Democrats.

……The wide-ranging, five-year agriculture measure would cost taxpayers $955 billion. That bulk of the money — $760.2 billion — would go toward the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program – or commonly known as the food stamp program which helps low-income families buy food. The Senate bill makes a small cut to the food stamp program, while the House version shaves off $17.4 billion.

The farmers aren’t getting very much out of a bill that’s supposed to be for agriculture.

The House is working on a rival, $940 billion farm bill that cuts spending by $39.7 billion over 10 years, with $20.5 billion of the cuts coming food stamps. House Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas (R-Okla.) crafted the bill, which will likely get a floor vote later this month.

Instead of feeding the maws of the able-bodied government dependent welfare culture, they should be passing legislation that helps businesses and creates jobs. Stop bleeding America to death with endless waste, taxes, and pork. Stop spending this country into an economic black hole. Stop the gawd-awful waste of “discretionary spending” (which means billions of dollars in pork barrel projects). Stop giving welfare payments in the form of stimulus and bailouts, which includes payoffs to unions. There aren’t enough wealthy people in the United States to shake down in order to cover the skyrocketing debt. The middle class is getting screwed by a class warmonger who considers them to be among the “wealthy”.
The ability of the population to fork over the billions needed to feed the maws of the government spending apparatus, is dwindling. It will get to the point where there won’t be any rich people to tax, which will put a big cramp in Obama’s “spread the wealth” Marxism.

The national debt is at $16.8 trillion and climbing.

The tax/borrow/spend orgy is unsustainable. The despicable douchebags in Washington need a swift kick in the ass from We the People. If you allow this to go on, you deserve every bit of the impending economic collapse you get.
