NATO chief Mark Rutte said Trump is right about Greenland.
President Donald Trump’s contention that forceful measures must be in place to protect the Arctic region was seconded Wednesday by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
Trump has said that American ownership of Greenland is essential to providing security. Denmark, which controls the island, does not want to part with it, leading to an escalating war of words and threats of economic consequences.
Rutte spoke during a panel discussion at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday. Trump spoke to the group later on Wednesday.
“When it comes to the Arctic, I think President Trump is right,” Rutte said in a video posted to X. “Other leaders of NATO are right.”
“We need to defend the Arctic. We know that the sea lanes are opening up. We know that China and Russia are increasingly active in the Arctic,” he said.
…….“President Trump and other leaders are right; we have to do more there,” he continued. “We have to protect the Arctic against Russian and Chinese influence.”
Soy Boy Newsom went to Davos only to get cancelled and ridiculed:
Gavin Newsom traveled all the way across the pond to attack President Donald J. Trump on the world stage at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, but had the rug yanked out from under him when an appearance was abruptly canceled.
The California governor had been invited to speak at a “fireside chat” hosted by media sponsor Fortune, but the Democrat interloper’s audition for the globalists didn’t work out as anticipated after he was denied entry to the USA House, the official U.S. pavilion at Davos.
Newsom wasted no time playing the victim with his trash-talking team at the Governor Newsom Press Office X account, claiming that the Trump administration was responsible for denying the 2028 Democrat frontrunner a forum to attack the president while he was overseas.
“Under pressure from the White House and State Department, USA House (a church acting as the official US pavilion) is now denying entry to @CAGovernor Gavin Newsom to speak with media after Fortune — the official media partner — invited him to speak,” the account said in a Wednesday post.
According to its website: “USA House operates a small number of marquee venues along the Promenade, including penthouses and historic locations inside and adjacent to the security zone, selected for their suitability for senior-level conversations in a discreet and secure setting.”
Newsom himself also whined about it, posturing as the tough guy that he will never be.
The White House shot back at the oily interloper, calling Newsom a “third-rate governor” who should be focused on dealing with the problems in his home state instead of “frolicking around Switzerland.”
“No one in Davos knows who third-rate governor Newscum (sic) is or why he is frolicking around Switzerland instead of fixing the many problems he created in California,” White House spokesperson Anna Kelly told the New York Post in a statement.

Zero Hedge reported, “Trump wins again or rather, Europe caves again. On Friday, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer was forced into an abrupt and humiliating retreat after his plan for the Chagos Islands detonated backlash in Washington.
“Starmer had been preparing to ram the controversial legislation through the House of Lords on Monday, only for the bill to be yanked late Friday on growing fears it could unravel a 60-year-old US-UK treaty, which is the foundational Cold War-era deal that allows the U.S. to operate the Diego Garcia military base on the Chagos Islands, or what’s known as the British Indian Ocean Territory.”
The Brits were going to give the islands to Mauritius.

While several regional powers signed on, most of Europe and other traditional U.S. partners remained on the sidelines. Some European governments said they needed more time to consider the proposal, but France declined outright, arguing that the board’s charter “goes beyond the framework of Gaza and raises serious questions, in particular with respect to the principles and structure of the United Nations, which cannot be called into question.”
The board was originally pitched as part of the president’s 20-point peace plan for Gaza, but Trump has since framed it as a broader global body, fueling skepticism among Western powers wary of empowering an alternative to the United Nations (UN). Notably, the peace framework, including the board, was approved by the UN Security Council in November.
“Once this board is completely formed, we can do pretty much whatever we want to do. And we’ll do it in conjunction with the United Nations,” Trump said at the signing ceremony of the founding charter. “I’ve always said the United Nations has got tremendous potential, has not used it.”
Euros don’t like any alternative to the corrupt U.N. The U.N. is a cesspool of despots and it’s riddled with corruption. It supports every communist and Islamofascist nation-state on the planet. No Western country with any moral decency or integrity would be part of it.
