Three Stooges Travel to the Middle East

A council of world leaders launched by former President Nelson Mandela is sending a three-person team to try to help ease tensions in the Middle East, the organization known as The Elders said Friday.

Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and former Irish President Mary Robinson will visit Israel, the Palestinian territories, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Saudi Arabia April 13-21.

……the group of 12 world leaders is dedicated to fostering peace and resolving global crises. They will meet with figures inside and outside government and prepare a report to help people understand the urgency of peace and what is needed to secure it.

Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who chairs the group, said: “Peace will not come from the barrel of a gun, as we learned in South Africa.”

A breakdown of this “peace delegation”:

Mandela: A murderous thug. He and the other ANC (African National Congress) miscreants committed some of the most violent atrocities in Africa. Idi Amin would be proud. The yearly death toll from civil and tribal wars number in the thousands, thanks to people who follow the example set by assholes like Mandela. But he’s gonna change that for the Middle East. Yeah, right.

Jimmy Carter: An inept, abject failure. He totally blew foreign (Iranian hostage crisis) and domestic (gas shortage, hyperinflation) policies as President and his efforts after he left office went downhill from there.

Soviet diplomatic accounts and material from the archives show that in January 1984 former President Jimmy Carter dropped by Soviet Ambassador Anatoly Dobrynin’s residence for a private meeting.

Carter expressed his concern about and opposition to Reagan’s defense buildup. He boldly told Dobrynin that Moscow would be better off with someone else in the White House. If Reagan won, he warned, “There would not be a single agreement on arms control, especially on nuclear arms, as long as Reagan remained in power.”

Using the Russians to influence the presidential election was nothing new for Carter.

Schweizer reveals Russian documents that show that in the waning days of the 1980 campaign, the Carter White House dispatched businessman Armand Hammer to the Soviet Embassy.
Hammer was a longtime Soviet-phile, and he explained to the Soviet ambassador that Carter was “clearly alarmed” at the prospect of losing to Reagan.

Hammer pleaded with the Russians for help. He asked if the Kremlin could expand Jewish emigration to bolster Carter’s standing in the polls.

Jimmy Carter has always had rotten luck. So it comes as no surprise that four days after the Nobel Committee announced that he would be the 2002 recipient for the Nobel Peace Prize, North Korea announced that it had cheated on an agreement – one which had been negotiated by the former president. Since that announcement, North Korea has removed seals on cameras installed by the United Nations, kicked out UN arms inspectors, and is pretty much attempting to blackmail East Asia with nuclear weapons.

Carter on North Korea:

……the “people were very friendly and open.” The capital, Pyongyang, is a “bustling city,” where customers “pack the department stores,” which looked like “Wal-Mart in Americus, Georgia.”

The North Korean people in rural areas are eating grass.

……Carter noted that Yugoslavia’s Marshall Tito was also “a man who believes in human rights.” Carter saluted the dictator as “a great and courageous leader” who “has led his people and protected their freedom almost for the last 40 years.”

He publicly told Romanian dictator Nicolae Ceausescu, “Our goals are the same. … We believe in enhancing human rights. We believe that we should enhance, as independent nations, the freedom of our own people.”

He told the Stalinist first secretary of Communist Poland, Edward Gierek, “Our concept of human rights is preserved in Poland.”

……He told Haitian dictator Lt. Gen. Raoul Cedras he was “ashamed of what my country has done to your country.”

He’s praised the mass-murdering leaders of Syria and Ethiopia.

He endorsed Yasser Arafat’s sham election and grumbled about the legitimate vote that ousted Sandanista Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua.

There’s much more of Carter’s treason and anti-American vitol, but you get the picture.

Kofi Anan: Corrupt former U.N. leader who along with his son, undermined the 12 year sanctions against Iraq by abetting Saddam Hussein in the Oil for Food scam.

A U.N.-appointed panel investigating corruption in prewar Iraq’s oil-for-food program delivered a scathing rebuke of Secretary General Kofi Annan’s management of the largest U.N. humanitarian aid operation and concluded that Kojo Annan took advantage of his father’s position to profit from the system.

……Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein raked in $1.7 billion in kickbacks from participating companies and $11 billion in oil-smuggling profits. Among the most volatile allegations……were suspicions that Kofi Annan had steered lucrative Iraqi oil contracts to a Swiss company, Cotecna, that had put his son on its payroll.

Kojo Annan, the secretary-general’s son, was employed by a U.N. contractor that monitored food and medicine shipments that were flowing into Iraq as part of the multibillion-dollar program created in late 1996.

The Oil-for-Food program is now being probed by the Justice Department and Congress as a boondoggle that enriched Saddam Hussein and others. A report delivered last week by Charles Duelfer found that Saddam was able to “subvert” the $60 billion U.N. Oil-for-Food program to generate an estimated $1.7 billion in revenue outside U.N. control from 1997-2003.

……Kojo Annan was a consultant for Cotecna, a Swiss-based company, and helped manage the firm’s operations in Nigeria. He ended his assignment with the firm just months after it got a $4.8 million U.N. contract to monitor goods coming into Iraq.

At congressional hearings last week, Cotecna officials said they were unable to do their job properly because of Saddam’s relentless manipulation of the U.N. system that let him bilk an estimated $11 billion from the program.

Mary Robinson: Former President of Ireland and certified leftwingnut.

Mary Robinson, another of the ‘distinguished’ Elders, was Kofi Annan’s choice as the United Nation’s High Commissioner for Human Rights. Like Annan and Carter, she indulged dictators while condemning Western democracies.

For example, Robinson presided over the “World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance” that turned into a non-stop hatefest against Jews and Israel. She remained silent while her commission was deciding to condone suicide bombings as a legitimate means to establish Palestinian statehood. She has since lamented that the U.S. was not continuing to embrace Jimmy Carter’s failed foreign policy and criticized our wise decision to oppose the new UN Human Rights Council travesty.

They should have quite a welcoming committee of assorted despots and terrorists.

I can hardly wait.
