As The Washington Post came to the defense of its “accomplished and diligent journalist” after she came under heavy fire for exposing a social media influencer, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson took a torch to the reporter and leftist media.
Cameron Barr, the Post’s senior managing editor, issued a statement praising the reporting methods of Taylor Lorenz in naming the woman who has anonymously been behind the popular Twitter account “Libs of TikTok.”
Lorenz unleashed a furious backlash for essentially hunting down Chaya Raichik, even allegedly searching for information at several of Raichik’s family members’ homes, as she concluded her mission with an article, “Meet the woman behind Libs of TikTok, secretly fueling the right’s outrage machine.”
She claimed that the Twitter account holder “reposts a steady stream of TikTok videos and social media posts, primarily from LGBTQ+ people, often including incendiary framing designed to generate outrage.”
But Lorenz, who hypocritically cried over allegedly being bullied and criticized, had no qualms essentially doing the same to Raichik. But the furor over her so-called reporting was staunchly defended at The Post.
“Taylor Lorenz is an accomplished and diligent journalist whose reporting methods comport entirely with The Washington Post’s professional standards,” said Barr in a statement, even backing the news value of her report.
“Chaya Raichik, in her management of the Libs of TikTok Twitter account and in media interviews, has had significant impact on public discourse and her identity had become public knowledge on social media. We did not publish or link to any details about her personal life,” Barr added.
……“Taylor Lorenz is a terrible journalist and worse human. Targeting a Twitter account that literally just posts Leftists owning themselves because that account damages the Left is pure Lorenz,” tweeted Ben Shapiro.
Fox News host Tucker Carlson slammed Lorenz and the left-wing media for targeting Raichik who had recently appeared anonymously on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”
In his opening monologue on Tuesday, Carlson recounted how the successful Libs of TikTok account was “comprised almost solely of videos of liberals talking about themselves. The concept was very simple: Find interesting tape that had already been uploaded to the internet by the people who made it and then repost that tape. There was no editing of it, no special effects. There was very little editorial content.”
“We aired a number of their videos on the show, and we are grateful for their reporting. It was far more straightforward than anything you’re going to find in The New York Times or The Washington Post because it wasn’t accompanied by a lot of bloviating. They just showed you the tape, and you can decide. That’s journalism,” Carlson continued, showing several examples.
“So, of course, that Twitter feed had to be shut down,” the Fox News host said, noting how hit pieces were written about the site and that Twitter even temporarily suspended the account twice.
“So ultimately, Jeff Bezos weighed in. Bezos’ personal newspaper, The Washington Post, decided to harass the family of the woman who operates the Libs of TikTok. They couldn’t find her, so they went after her family,” he said, explaining how Lorenz “set about trying to find the woman herself.”
He lambasted Lorenz for “effectively acting as the Stasi for the Deep State, trying to intimidate a private citizen into silence,” reminding viewers how the reporter had actually had a meltdown on MSNBC about her own experiences being bullied.
This stalking psycho showed up outside the door of Raichik’s family home.
……Rather than grapple with the issues the account brought to light — some of which resulted in discipline of teachers — Lorenz drew on interviews from transgender left-wing activists at the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the left-wing organization Media Matters, who predictably supported the narrative that exposing controversial classroom instruction to the public at large essentially amounts to bigotry for the transgender and gay community.
Absent from Lorenz’s article were specifics that might cut across the reality The Washington Post sought to impart on readers, as well as individuals voicing their support for the account. The Libs of Tik Tok account rose to prominence by simply reposting crazed gender- and race-focused rants far left teachers themselves posted on social media.
A few notable examples include a transgender teacher who made sexual jokes with her students who was reportedly investigated and reprimanded, a teacher who was reportedly dismissed after he told children “if your parents don’t accept you for who you are, fuck them,” a teacher who said “parents need to stay the fuck out of classrooms,” and a teacher who was reportedly investigated and placed on leave after saying he would throw a child at anyone who mask shamed him at school.
Libs of Tik Tok’s explosion in popularity coincides with a national reckoning between parents and educators about what exactly is appropriate for very young students to learn in school.
“An honest journalist, working at an honest newspaper, would run exposés on the rise of America’s sexualized education system,” Terry Schilling, president of the pro-family political advocacy organization American Principles Project, told the DCNF. “They’d interview the hundreds of teachers who are posting public videos bragging about how they are sexualizing children without parents’ knowledge.”
“But we aren’t dealing with an honest journalist or an honest newspaper. Instead, Taylor Lorenz and The Washington Post are targeting the person who is doing their job for them. The people who should be exposed are the teachers sexualizing children, not the citizen journalist exposing them,” Schilling added.
……“Libs of Tik Tok posts videos of far left gender activists that they themselves have posted online,” Ian Prior, executive director of Fight for Schools, told the DCNF. “In doing so, Libs of Tik Tok is engaging in actual journalism, unlike the pathetic doxxing hit piece from Lorenz and her editors that is nothing more than an attempt by a major media outlet to intimidate someone for exercising their First Amendment rights.”
……Lorenz frequently complains about online harassment and “doxxing,” the practice of sharing a person’s private information, such as their address, to open them up to harassment, stalking and threats to their personal safety. She claimed to suffer from “severe PTSD” from online harassment and said she had contemplated suicide while sobbing in an MSNBC interview March 1.
Here’s Lorenz on a crying jag over the stress of being her:
“[D]oxxing, stalking, trying to hurt and smear ppl’s loves ones, threatening them, it’s not ok in any situation. Ppl on here who constantly stoke these politicized outrage campaigns want to dismiss it, but it shouldn’t be dismissed. Has very real consequences,” Lorenz wrote on Twitter April 3.
……“Instead of reporting on the degenerates and predators who work with children and boast about their escapades on social media, Taylor Lorenz is “exposing” an account that only exists to hold a mirror up to those degenerates and predators in order to protect children,” Pushaw told the DCNF. “Why would a Washington Post journalist have a problem with this?”
The little leftie crybully just violated every complaint she made. Leftwing nutbags hate having the mirror held up to their own faces.
All Raichik does is publish unaltered videos posted by bizarre unhinged leftie fruitcakes who brag about their mental illness and the depraved stunts they pull with kids.
Where does Lorenz live? Raichik should show up outside her home and demand answers.
