We Are the 53%

Erick Erickson, founder of RedState.org has created a Tumblr site called “We are the 53 percent” as a counterpoint to the “Occupy” morons’ “We are the 99 percent” site. Erickson’s Tumblr represents the 53 percent of Americans who pay federal income taxes which support the 46 percent who don’t work or pay taxes.  That includes the  “Occupy” derelicts.

Here are some of the letters:

The bullet points of my life. I don’t make any excuses or have any regrets. I lived it. It made me what I am today and I refuse to be a self-hating narcissist.

I am a 26 year-old filmmaker living in NYC.

I had my first two jobs when I was 16 – and have been working two simultaneously since I was 17. No one handed them to me.

I delivered pizza to pay for my tuition while editing a documentary for free to get a foot in the door.

Everyone in my family worked hard to achieve something, and many served proudly in the US military

I self-funded my first film and recently started a small business to continue making my own films.

I am indebted to no one and no one owes me.

I love America and am tired of the liberal slant in Hollywood.

I’m proud of what I’ve achieved on my own. I am always the first one to clock in and the last to clock out.

I am the 53%

I am a 4th generation American. Most of my previous generation has served in our military; my nephew lost his life in Afghanistan. I started my first job when I was 10 years old cleaning dog kennels. I earned $3.25 per hour and thought it was great. I worked manual labor for the next 25 years until I earned a break with honesty and hard work. Now I am working in insurance. I AM A PROUD AMERICAN I am Cory I am the 53%

Too busy to complain as my $$ support the losers in NYC

Here’s my contribution, which is a combination of previously published comments:

Dear “Occupy” idiots,

No, you are not the “99%”.  Of anything. You’re a hell of a lot better off than the generations of Americans who built and protected this country through mass immigration in the 19th century and two world wars.  You’ve got it made compared to your grandparents and great grandparents.  Instead of doing what it takes to get your lives together and work for what you want, even if it means taking that temporary less-than-desirable job,  you’re too busy wallowing in self-pity.  Thank gawd this country didn’t have to depend on assclowns like you during the last 235 years of its history. It’s bad enough you’re going to be part of its future.

No one gave me a free meal ticket in life. I come from a working class family. My environment was far from prosperous. My mother raised 7 kids, mostly by herself. We all worked. My two older sisters worked two part time jobs, and my mother worked to make ends meet.  At the age of  18, I joined the United States Army and served the country for a total of 30 years.  I also earned a college degree without incurring thousands of dollars in student loans and demanding that someone else pay for it

We believe in a helping hand, not a handout.

There’s also incessant whining over “student loans”, “no jobs”, and how it’s “not what they were promised their first day of school”.  It’s the university’s fault. It’s society’s fault. It’s the corporations’ fault. It’s the fault of those evil rich bastards who worked hard and made money. It’s Bush’s fault.  WAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!  What a bunch of pathetic candy asses.  The agonizing list of complaints range from maudlin to nutty as a fruitcake.

Parents are supposed to set an example of values, principles, and work ethic to help their kids have a better life than they did. The opportunities are there. You have to do something besides sit on your ass and complain about how unfair it is that the wealthy have so much money. Ordinary rational humans wouldn’t want to destroy their country’s economy and penalize wage-earners with more taxation.  But, that’s the goal of the class-warfare neo-Bolsheviks in the White House and the Democratic party.

Work ethic and personal responsibility for one’s lifestyle and actions start at home. When parents don’t tell Big Government to mind its own fucking business and stick to doing its job of  following the Constitution, the result is what you see as the “Occupy Wall Street” circus.

In contrast, the Tea Party was formed in response to an out-of-control government and a (former) Dem majority in Congress who held the Republic and the Constitution hostage while they rammed ObamaCare through Congress, declared a class war, and inflicted considerable damage on this country since Obama took office. There’s a huge difference between American patriots who demand that elected officials follow the U.S. Constitution, and the raging moonbats who want to “occupy” everything except a job and a responsible lifestyle.

Oh, and lookie here: The “occupy” idiots celebrate “diversity” by including nazis, communists, anarchists, perverts and felons.

The worst excrement on the planet has come crawling out of the sewer to rant against “evil” capitalism, and just America in general.

The leftwing media hacks may adore these scumbags, but the rest of America hasn’t developed a taste for lazy, unwashed derelicts whose idea of ‘activism’ is trashing their communities with vandalism and screaming incoherent obscenities at the “establishment”.

Occupy protests: Where the criminal dredges of society go to mingle.
