BuzzFeed is in a steep downward trajectory. Couldn’t happen to a better rag.
BuzzFeed on Thursday announced it has shuttered its news division.
In an email obtained by news outlets, BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti said the move was part of a 15% workforce reduction across a number of teams.
“While layoffs are occurring across nearly every division, we’ve determined that the company can no longer continue to fund BuzzFeed News as a standalone organization,” he wrote, according to NBC News.
BuzzFeed put the opposition research document, known as the Steele dossier, online in unedited form in January 2017, citing the interest in informing the public of the role it played in the congressional and FBI investigations of the now discredited Russia-Trump 2016 presidential campaign collusion narrative, according to Politico.
Former MI6 operative Christopher Steele, was hired by Fusion GPS, a corporate espionage firm, to dig up dirt on Trump but came up with a fabricated smear instead. Not deterred by the total implausibility of the story described in the dossier, GPS shopped the dossier to the liberal media and paid journos to feed the fake story to the press with predicable results; the left wing morons at Buzzfeed and CNN jumped at the chance to print the fake news. The FBI even offered $50,000 to Steele for information.
All this shit can be traced back to Hillary’s campaign and Obama’s regime.
James Comey knew about the Steele dossier and that it had been paid for by the DNC. He copied parts of it to use in his spying requests.
Clinton attorney Marc Elias was directly involved in tapping Fusion GPS to spy on the Donald Trump campaign on behalf of Clinton while a partner at left-wing law firm Perkins Coie.
More than two years before Mueller’s final shitshow before Congress and his admission that there was no collusion, the FBI acknowledged that the Steele dossier was fake. FBI memos showed that the “Russian collusion” hoax fell apart early into Trump’s presidency. They knew it was all bullshit, but they wanted Trump gone by any means.
Even if it involved illegal wiretaps, lying to the FISA court, perjury, and pushing a fake dossier.
The FBI analyst Brian Auten admitted under oath that that neither he nor his team of half a dozen intelligence analysts could confirm any of the allegations in the dossier. But they said nothing.
A fake dossier paid for by one political party and its candidate was used by the government to spy on that candidate’s opponent.
Buzzfeed pushed it. Sucks to be them.
