Late night talk shows haven’t been watchable in decades.
Johnny Carson set the standard, but mostly everything that followed—- with the exception of Jay Leno—-was garbage.
The show will end after the next season in May 2026.
Variety reported:
“TV’s ongoing problems with late night have come for Stephen Colbert, with CBS announcing Thursday that it plans to end his “Late Show” after the next TV season, citing a “financial decision.”The decision — which ends years of original late-night programming at CBS that started when the network lured David Letterman from NBC in 1993 — comes as the economics of wee-hours TV have begun to accelerate, with media companies growing wary of the high price tags involved in producing the shows while the young viewers they try to attract watch more of them via digital video.
“We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire ‘The Late Show’ franchise” in May of 2026,” CBS executives said in a statement. “We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late night television. This is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night. It is not related in any way to the show’s performance, content or other matters happening at Paramount.”
Earlier this year, self-important loser Stephen Colbert said Trump would pull him off the air.
“Yeah, it’s been a good run. It’s been a good run, Joe. Thank you. Thank you for all your efforts. The next time you all see me, Donald Trump will be president. And you may not see me,” the anti-Trump comedian told viewers.
“Tonight, it’s just a little, little, a little bit of sweet and sour, a little semi-sweet chocolate chip. It’s the end of an era, because this is our last show of the Biden Administration.”
Boo. Fucking. Hoo.
Colbert’s gang of rectoids mocked and harassed speakers at a rally for families of J6 defendants, including the family of Matthew Perna, who committed suicide after being hounded by government jackboots for exercising his free speech rights.

The same DA who persecuted the Jan 6 protesters refused to prosecute Colbert’s mob when they trespassed the capitol.
……..some conservatives did not seem surprised by the news, which came just days after Colbert – an outspoken critic of President Donald Trump – slammed his network’s $16 million settlement with the commander-in-chief as a ‘big fat bribe.’
‘Colbert abandoned the precious gift of making everyone laugh in favor of nasty pandering to deranged leftists,’ wrote Buck Sexton, the co-host of The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show.
‘It was selfish and cowardly. He richly deserves the cancellation of his shit show.’
Author Joel C Rosenberg added that his ‘left wing woke approach to comedy — not funny at all — has killed the franchise that David Letterman built so hilariously,’ and Meghan McCain decided to offer some advice to fellow late night talk show host Jimmy Fallon.
‘If Jimmy Fallon and his team were smart they would start inviting prominent republicans on as guests and treat them like humans,’ she suggested.
Right on cue, other leftwing late night talk show hosts had fits.
One less leftard hack on late night.
