How to Tell if Your Senator Pays Attention

I live in a Democratic-contolled hell known as North East Ohio. The two representatives from this area are Senator Sherrod Brown and Congresswoman Betty Sutton. They’re no strangers to my e-mails. I’ve contacted them on everything from pork-barrel spending to their lamebrained oppostion to the war against Islamofascist terrorism.

I sent this to the both of them:

Remember when the Left had its panties in a wad over GW’s Inauguration costs? It was somewhere around 40 million, and you had fits over armoring Humvees in Iraq, helping victims of the tsunami, and paying down the deficit.

The 2006 festivity was labeled ‘extravagant’ and ‘excessive’.

Well, it’s 2009, the economy sucks, we are still at war with Islamofascists, and yet Obama spent 150 MILLION on his coronation.

Not a peep out of you liberals.

Where’s the outrage?

Oh that’s right. Obamessiah is held to a different standard.

I received this from Sherrod Brown:

Thank you for contacting me with your concerns regarding federal fiscal policy.

Under the previous administration, our national debt has ballooned from $5 trillion to over $11 trillion. Our national deficit is a tremendous problem. Not only is the interest liability a serious impediment to our current economic growth, but we are creating a crippling financial burden for the next generation of Americans. More and more of this debt is being financed abroad.

In the 110th Congress, the Senate worked actively to combat escalating deficits by re-establishing budget rules in the Fiscal Year 2009 budget resolution. Those rules stated that any mandatory spending and tax cuts that increase the deficit must be offset by spending cuts or tax increases.

During the 111th Congress, I will continue to fight for economic policies that ensure America’s competitiveness. By adopting responsible fiscal policy and encouraging personal saving, we can reduce the national debt and restore our international strength.

Once again, thank you for contacting my office.

Sincerely,
Sherrod Brown

Nice tapdance, Sherrod. Not only did you completely ignore the gist of my letter, but you injected your own ‘interpretation’.

The point, and I know you missed it, was the contrast between the treatment of Bush’s inauguration spending as opposed to Obama’s.

Aside from that, Obama and your Democrat majority will increase taxes and spending. You will carry out your threat to take money from taxpayers and give money to those who do not pay taxes, let alone work. The trillion dollars Obama plans on spending will be a drop in the bucket before he’s through.
It won’t take long before the economy collapses completely.

Guess you forgot that the Democrats have a corner on the tax and spend market.

No word from Betty, yet.
