Obama: Sometimes I Forget Just How Badly I Screwed the Economy

Especially when he’s trolling for campaign bucks from rich Hollywood effetes.

From the Weekly Standard.

Obama, speaking earlier today at a campaign event in Seattle, Washington:

“It was a house of cards and it collapsed in the most destructive, worst crisis that we’ve seen since the Great Depression,” Obama said. “And sometimes people forget the magnitude of it. You know, you saw some of that in the video that was shown. Sometimes I forget.”

Mitt Romney’s press secretary, Andrea Saul, responds: “It’s not surprising that a president who forgot to create jobs, forgot to cut the debt, and forgot to change Washington has now admitted that he’s forgotten about the recession. In fact, it seems that the President has forgotten that he’s been in office for the last three-and-a-half years. In November, the American people won’t forget.”

Obama was alluding to the requisite “I inherited a mess, blame it on Bush” crap because even he can’t admit to just how much he damaged this country’s economy.

Hey B. Hussein, here’s some more reminders:

16.2% unemployment.  The unsustainable tax/borrow/spend orgy. $814 billion “stimulus” and $787 billion dollars in taxpayer funded bailouts. The government takeover of 2/3rds of the auto industry, insurance corporations, and health care, and the engineered collapse of the housing and banking industry. (TARP)  The failed legacy of a Dem majority in Congress.

If that isn’t enough, the incredible magnitude of government waste and spending is here: www.usdebtclock.org  24/7/365.
