On President Trump’s China Visit

Don Surber

Landing in Beijing with his secretary of state, his treasury secretary and the No. 1 executives of the top 30 corporations in America, President Trump received the royal treatment.

A naval armed guard and attractive young women in skirts spelling “welcome” in semaphore greeted Trump and his party of industry titans at the airport.

Later, The Star-Spangled Banner played as the Chairman Xi greeted Trump at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

Contrast and compare to Barack Obama’s arrival in Hangzhou, China, for the G20 summit on September 3, 2016, when Red China forced him to exit Air Force One through the back door because no rolling staircase was provided for the main upper door.

Xi treated the leader of the best military in the world like a bus boy because on the world stage, Obama acted like one—sending pallets of cash in the middle of the night to the Death To America Republic of Iran. Everybody else got stairs except the leader of the free world.

Everyone in the world saw it, no matter how hard America’s media now denies it, Back Door Obama really happened.

In the art of this deal, Trump invoked his inner Sun Tzu and won the summit before he boarded Air Force One.

Trump brought Xi the head of the Ayatollah. Oh, not physically because the Israeli Blue Sparrow missile (the missile from space) obliterated him. He was blown to the fastest growing town in Iran: Smithhereens.

Everyone in the world knows who ordered the hit, and it wasn’t Bibi, baby.

Our president didn’t go to Red China for help. He went to make Xi an offer that he could not refuse.

Trump announced the trip on October 30 at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in Busan, South Korea. He planned to visit Red China in April but postponed it on account of war.

The war was part of Trump’s preparation for the meeting. On January 3, he sent in the U.S. military to Caracas to arrest Maduro and his wife for being narco-terrorists.

Then Trump launched Operation Epic Fury.

These military operations did two things. One, both excursions proved Red China’s radar is useless against American stealth. Xi fired Yang Wei, the chief designer of China’s J-20 stealth fighter jet used to test the detector, in the aftermath of those failures. Rumors hold that Yang is dead either by execution or his own hand.

Ironically, the very fear of failure keeps Red China’s top engineers from being innovative. Temu knockoffs of U.S. military hardware won’t cut it.

But the big prize was Trump cutting off two important suppliers of oil to Red China. Xi thought holding back rare earth elements had us over the barrel. It sucks but not as hard as losing one’s oil supply. Ask Japan in 1940 how that worked out for them.

Trump is his own OPEC now.

Oh, Xi still has oil coming in, just not as much as he needs.

Trump’s guest list formed a posse of 30 of the top people in American business. They included Elon Musk — Tesla / SpaceX; Tim Cook — Apple; Jensen Huang — Nvidia (late addition, joined mid-trip); Larry Fink — BlackRock; Stephen Schwarzman — Blackstone; Kelly Ortberg — Boeing; Jane Fraser — Citi; Brian Sikes — Cargill; H. Lawrence Culp — GE Aerospace; David Solomon — Goldman Sachs; Jacob Thaysen — Illumina; Michael Miebach — Mastercard; Dina Powell McCormick — Meta (president/vice chair); Sanjay Mehrotra — Micron; Cristiano Amon — Qualcomm; and Ryan McInerney — Visa.

Bringing those 30 leaders with him sent Xi a message and showed him who runs the world.

In 2011, Obama schmoozed with Chinese President Hu Jintao and bowed to boot.

During the lavish state dinner Obama hosted for the ChiCom dictator, a Chinese pianist played a well-known Chinese propaganda song that’s about defeating the U.S. in a war.  They mocked America right under Barky’s nose.

I admire President Trump’s show of confidence and power, but we still have to face reality about China and remain vigilant.

Michael T. Flynn LTG USA (RET)

I have spent over 33 years in uniform and in service to this country, including as Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency and as National Security Advisor to the President of the United States. I have seen the intelligence, read the assessments, sat across the table from our adversaries, and I will tell you plainly what I believe to be true.

The Chinese Communist Party is the single greatest external threat to the United States of America.

That is not a political statement. It is not an opinion offered for effect. It is the operational reality I lived as Director of DIA, and it is the conclusion confirmed by every serious threat assessment produced by the United States Intelligence Community in the years since.

What has changed in the last five years is not the nature of the threat. What has changed is its speed, its scale, and its sheer brazenness.

It is a war fought under the doctrine the People’s Liberation Army itself codified in 1999 as Unrestricted Warfare, a strategy that treats every domain of national life as a legitimate battlefield. The Chinese Communist Party fights on every front except the conventional battlefield, and they do so because they understand fifth-generation warfare better than most of the officials in Washington, D.C.

They target the American mind through information operations, academic infiltration, and the algorithmic capture of our young people on platforms owned by entities legally obligated to cooperate with Chinese intelligence services under the 2017 National Intelligence Law. They target the American supply chain through deliberate dependencies in pharmaceuticals, rare earth minerals, semiconductors, and the industrial base that sustains our military. They target the American family through the deliberate export of fentanyl precursors that have contributed to the deaths of more than three hundred thousand Americans since 2020. They target the institutional core of this Republic through cyber intrusions into our power grid, our water systems, our ports, and our telecommunications networks, including the Volt Typhoon and Salt Typhoon campaigns that the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has publicly attributed to the People’s Republic of China.

What follows is a record of specific, documented actions taken by the Chinese Communist Party against the United States since 2020. Each is drawn from a named federal indictment, an agency advisory, or an official threat assessment of the United States Government. They span espionage, cyber warfare, economic coercion, transnational repression, narcotics trafficking, biological risk, and the corruption of American institutions at the federal, state, and local levels.

1. The Fentanyl Precursor Indictments

On October 3, 2023, the Department of Justice unsealed eight indictments against China-based chemical manufacturing companies and their employees for the production and distribution of fentanyl precursors. The lead case named Hubei Amarvel Biotech Co., Ltd., along with executives Qingzhou Wang, Yiyi Chen, and a third defendant operating under the alias “Er Yang.” DEA Administrator Anne Milgram stated at the time that Chinese chemical companies are the source of the fentanyl crisis killing Americans…….

2. The Volt Typhoon Advisory

On February 7, 2024, the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, the National Security Agency, and the FBI jointly released advisory AA24-038A, formally attributing a multi-year campaign to Chinese state-sponsored actors known as Volt Typhoon to pre-position offensive cyber capabilities inside American critical infrastructure. The advisory confirmed that Volt Typhoon had compromised IT networks in the communications, energy, transportation, and water and wastewater sectors across the continental United States and in our Pacific territory, Guam…….

3. The Salt Typhoon Telecom Penetration

In October 2024, U.S. officials confirmed that a separate Chinese state-sponsored group designated Salt Typhoon had penetrated at least nine American telecommunications carriers, including AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Lumen, Charter Communications, Consolidated Communications, and Windstream. The hackers accessed call detail records, metadata, and the contents of certain communications. Most disturbingly, they compromised the systems telecom carriers maintain under the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act, the very portals through which American law enforcement conducts court-ordered wiretaps……

4. The PRC Surveillance Balloon That Crossed the Continental United States

On January 28, 2023, a Chinese high-altitude surveillance platform entered American airspace over Alaska. It transited Canada and re-entered the continental United States on January 31, drifting eastward over Montana, where it loitered above Malmstrom Air Force Base and the Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missile fields. The Department of Defense allowed the platform to complete its traverse of the American heartland before shooting it down on February 4, 2023, off the coast of South Carolina. Pentagon press secretary Brigadier General Pat Ryder later acknowledged the balloon was equipped to collect intelligence signals. ……..

5. The Manhattan Secret Police Station Indictment

On April 17, 2023, the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York unsealed an indictment charging Lu Jianwang and Chen Jinping with conspiring to act as illegal agents of the People’s Republic of China. The two operated an unauthorized outpost of the Fuzhou Public Security Bureau on the fourth floor of a building in Manhattan’s Chinatown, established in 2020 under the cover of a community nonprofit. The station served as a forward base for the CCP’s “Operation Fox Hunt” and the harassment of Chinese dissidents living under the protection of our Constitution…….

6. The Fufeng Group Land Purchase Near Grand Forks Air Force Base

In November 2021, the Chinese agribusiness conglomerate Fufeng Group purchased approximately 370 acres of farmland in Grand Forks, North Dakota, twelve miles from Grand Forks Air Force Base, the home of sensitive U.S. drone and space communications operations. On January 27, 2023, Assistant Secretary of the Air Force Andrew Hunter wrote to Senators John Hoeven and Kevin Cramer stating that the project presented “a significant threat to national security with both near- and long-term risks of significant impacts to our operations in the area.” On February 6, 2023, the Grand Forks City Council voted 5-0 to kill the project……..

The United States had better start taking the threat from China seriously; economically and militarily.

The Chinese have engaged in cyber attacks, spying, economic espionage, and actual threatening of U.S. Naval vessels.

China builds artificial islands and militarizes them.

A ChiCom Air Show exhibition depicted their forces attacking a U.S. Navy vessel.

China announces that its nuclear submarines can hit the U.S. with missiles.

China’s military buildup is accelerating.  American companies who do business with China help fund the military buildup.  In turn, China arms North Korea and Iran.

A senior Chinese officer declared that China should ‘topple U.S. dominance’. Whether China can actually pull this off is a matter of great debate, but the fact that they have their claws sunk so deeply into us economically should be a wake-up call.

The ChiComs also bought property outside Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota. The base houses sensitive drone technology.

Arkansas governor Sarah Huckabee forced the ChiComs to relinquish 160 acres of farmland they bought in Craighead County.

The U.S. government and American businesses are selling our security to the CCP.

While U.S. politicians and CEOs are treating Beijing like a business partner, the Chinese have engaged in cyber attacks, spying, economic espionage, and actual threatening of U.S. Naval vessels. Yet these traitors think giving them money, technology, and contributing to the Chinese threat are good ideas.

Propping up a communist totalitarian regime with capitalist dollars is suicidal. China is an enemy and should be treated as such instead of having the privilege of being a business associate.  Doing business with a communist country will not transform it into a freedom-nurturing society.

There will come a day when all of the money we pour into China will come back to bite us in the ass. You can bet on it.
