A reporter from the Daily Caller paid a visit to a meeting of the “Patriotic Millionaires for Fiscal Strength”, held at the nation’s Capitol on Wednesday to demand that Congress raise taxes on wealthy Americans. As you can see, they’re not too thrilled with donating money to the IRS on their own.
The whole organization is a political charade, not for “patriotism”. A background on this group reveals its function as an Obama shill.
One of the earliest organizers was Guy Saperstein, a Piedmont civil rights attorney and major democratic donor.
During one of Obama’s many staged campaign “town halls”, one of the group’s millionaires, Doug Edwards, posed as a member of the audience and asked:
“Will you please raise my taxes?” the man said. “It kills me to see Congress not supporting the expiration of the tax cuts that have been benefiting so many of us for so long.”
Pretty please can I serve as a boot-licking Obamessiah lackey in public? Gag worthy.
They won’t personally donate to the government, but they’ll solicit donations for their efforts.
Warren Buffett, one of the richest people on the planet pisses and moans about being ‘coddled’ by Congress, but he won’t get out his checkbook. Matter of fact, the GOP introduced a proposal to add an explicit donation option to tax returns. Neither Buffett nor any of the other ‘patriotic’ money bags has taken up the offer. By the way, Buffett’s private airline NetJets just sued the IRS over excise taxes and penalties totaling $642.7 million assessed against the company. Apparently, he likes being coddled.
I have a newsflash for these wealthy guilt-ridden liberals: You could tax 100% of your income still not have enough to pay for this out-of-control government. There aren’t that many rich people in America. Our debt is over $15 trillion and climbing. It is unsustainable. We are being gouged by a government machine whose existence depends on devouring as much money as it can from the pockets of taxpayers. Added to the mix is a socialist administration and Dem politicians who share a visceral hatred of free market capitalism.
When politicians spend beyond our means, we pay the price. Their first instinct is to tax their way out of it. Sooner or later the government will run out of enough taxpayers to feed the maws of its out of control spending habits. That goes for the Middle Class as well as the eeeeeevil rich.
All the disingenuous bullshit on the part of leftwing millionaires won’t change it.
“The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.”
