Michelle Malkin has a run down of the destruction, damage, and criminal activity by the ‘Occupy’ Bolsheviks.
……There have been other nasty consequences, too — like the cancellation of a food drive and festival in Boston due to Occupier overload. Go here to donate. Latest word from NYC is that protesters are gearing up for a sunrise showdown to fight clean-up evacuation by Zuccotti Park’s private owners. (Update: The rabble-rousers got into a scuffle with police, as they wanted. The rabble is still piling up. Several arrests. See NYPost.) In Austin, TX, four squatters were arrested after refusing to leave while city workers power-washed the filthy plaza that served as Occupation Central. We’ve only just begun to see the dark side of the movement. They’ve been spoiling for a fight long before Day One of the Month of Rage.
……In Philadelphia, Mayor Michael Nutter told the press that demonstrators outside city hall have incurred $164,000 in overtime public employee costs and $237,000 in regular time. “At the current rate, if Occupy Philly continues to the end of the month, the city would spend another nearly $690,000 on police overtime alone,” the local NBC affiliate reported. “Besides the extra police presence being dedicated to the Occupy Philly protests, other city departments have also incurred costs.”
In Seattle, police have so far billed $30,000 in overtime and the parks department racked up nearly $4,000 in additional costs related to the protests there. Occupiers have blocked traffic, assaulted an officer, and pitched illegal tents. Merchants in the area have been hurt as the riff-raff deter customers. One business owner in Westlake Park, where hundreds of protesters remain camped out, told Seattle TV station KIRO: “There’s definitely fewer people you can identify as people out, just walking through the area.”
……In Boston, City Council President Steve Murphy anticipates a $2 million hit to taxpayers if the protests refuse to disband by the end of October. The local Fox affiliate notes the tab represents 8% of the yearly budget for police overtime. “While we’re all sympathetic with
our protesters down there,” Murphy said, “Wall Street isn’t picking up the tab on this thing. It’s the Boston taxpayers.”
When fiscally conservative Tea Party activists held protests over the past two years, they filed for all the required permits and paid for their own power. Occupy Boston, by contrast, neither sought nor obtained any proper permits at any level, according to the Boston Globe. Instead, city and park officials have been cowed into providing them gratis electricity and camp space lest there be “conflict.”
Many of these occupiers are primarily occupied as paid rent-a-mobsters for unions, left-wing think tanks, and the radical Working Families Party. While one collective hand soaks the taxpayers, the other hand is busy soliciting free stuff. Occupy Los Angeles activists took to Skype on their laptops to solicit donations of iPhones and iPads.
The Fleabaggers are as happy as pigs in shit, figuratively and literally, because Michael Bloomberg is still hiding under his desk and backed off on evicting them from Zuccotti Park.
“We are going to piggy-back off the success of today, and it’s going to be bigger than we ever imagined,” said protester Daniel Zetah.
The “occupy” disease is spreading like a plague.
Over the past month, the protest against corporate greed and economic inequality has spread to cities across the U.S. and around the world. Several demonstrations are planned this weekend in the U.S., Canada and Europe, as well as in Asia and Africa.
The Canuck and Euro entitlement cultures have been coddled by their respective socialist governments for decades. Soon, they’re going to run out of other people’s money to feed the proletariat. When that finally happens, the riots in Greece will look like a picnic. Africa has always been a cesspool of corruption, disease, tribal war, and dictatorship. Capitalism is the least of their worries. They can pat their dictators on the back for the economic inequality.
In Denver, police in riot gear herded hundreds of protesters away from the Colorado state Capitol early Friday, arresting about two dozen people and dismantling their encampment. In Trenton, N.J., protesters were ordered to remove tents near a war memorial.
Organizers in Des Moines, Iowa, warned of a possible “big conflict” Friday night after the state denied their permit to continue overnight protests at the Capitol. Demonstrators in San Diego formed a human chain around a tent in a downtown plaza and ignored police orders to take it down.
We’re going to cause a ‘big conflict’ if you don’t issue us a permit to squat and destroy like New York.
In New York City, police arrested 15 people, including protesters who obstructed traffic by standing or sitting in the street, and others who turned over trash baskets, knocked over a police scooter and hurled bottles. A deputy inspector was sprayed in the face with an unknown liquid.
In one case, a defense attorney marching with the group refused to move off the street for police and his foot was run over by an officer’s scooter. He fell to the ground screaming and writhing and kicked over the scooter to free his foot before police flipped him over and arrested him.
Awwwww. Maybe he can file workers’ compensation through the ACLU office where he’s employed.
Though the park is privately owned, it is required to be open to the public 24 hours per day.
Brookfield, a publicly traded real estate firm, had announced plans to power-wash the plaza section by section over 12 hours and then allow the protesters to return. But it said it would begin enforcing the park’s rules against tents, tarps and sleeping bags, complaining the grounds had become unsanitary and unsafe.
Brookfield should hire a crew of badasses armed with baseball bats, tasers, and billy clubs to go in and clear out the vermin. Bloomberg, who has got to be one of the biggest pussies on the planet, sure as hell won’t.
Here’s a little demonstration on how to deal with the ‘occupy’ punks who can’t follow simple instructions:
Cops fight back against the fleabaggers.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg, whose girlfriend is on Brookfield’s board of directors, said his staff was under strict orders not to pressure the company one way or the other. He noted that Brookfield can still go ahead with the cleanup at some point.
“My understanding is that Brookfield got lots of calls from many elected officials threatening them and saying, … `We’re going to make your life more difficult,'” he said on his weekly radio show.
Ah, so that’s why. Brookfield’s getting blackmailed. Who are these “elected officials” threatening to make their life more difficult? Are they on ‘Occupy’s’ payroll?
In Philadelphia, protester Matt Monk, a freelance writer, was cheered by the news out of New York.
“That means at the very least, the powers-that-be, wherever they are, know that they have to contend with us in a less heavy-handed way,” he said.
‘Less heavy-handed’, like continuing to let you break the law and commit violence and vandalism.
Oh, and they plan on having a party in Times Square.
The Jews are also part of the eeeeeevil capitalist conspiracy.
Kick out da jooooooooos!
Just to give you more insight on the punk who cussed at the Jewish guy, check out more of his stupidity.
His name is Danny Cline.
All you leftwing Jews out there must be real proud. You reap what you sow.
This little punk, who’s been on the planet for maybe two minutes, spews the very rhetoric that Queen Nancy Pelosi claimed was coming from the Tea Party:
“We’re really tired of the government fucking everyone over,” one “Occupy Denver” protester told Daily Caller roving Colorado video reporter Kelly Maher this week.
The young University of Colorado student may appear too young to have much life experience, but yessir — he’s mad as hell and he isn’t going to take it anymore. He sure looks comfortable in that designer jacket, though. (Ladies: Is that Burberry or a knock-off?)
“There’s a lot of stuff that needs to change,” our boy added, “and if it doesn’t, violent revolution will come.”
How to change things for the better? Apparently it just takes a box of bullets and some rope.
“If you get the thirteen families that own the world, including George Bush and his administration, get them in front of the White House and hang them and shoot them, because they deserve that.”
Pelosi has embraced “Occupy”, apparently oblivious to the rhetoric.
The “occupy” idiots claim to be against government, but they demand that the government give them everything they want; free education, free housing, free food, free cars, free money. They want all of the “evil” capitalist bankers, investors, and business owners, severed from the money and success they earned. If they want the government to centralize the economy (like China and the former Soviet Union), no one will have any money, including them. Then there won’t be any evil capitalists or good jobs. When there’s no wealthy people left to bitch about, and everyone’s a peasant under the new communist utopia, what then?
“Occupy” malcontents, for all their pretentious knowledge, don’t know jack shit about commerce or how economy functions in developed countries. The standard of living in our country is in decline because of a Marxist idiot in the White House who shares their philosophy, not because of free market capitalism. Big government cripples productivity and job creation.
Socialism/Communism doesn’t work. It’s diametrically opposed to every founding principle of our Democratic Republic. It oppresses basic freedoms, stifles entrepreneurship, and forces entire populations into shared government-imposed misery. No one can be more successful than others because it would disrupt the concept of “wealth redistribution”. In other words, take from those who earn and give to those who don’t or in the case of the “occupiers”, won’t.
The geniuses in this “movement” would be the first to collapse into a mushy heap if they actually got what they wanted.
