U.S. Halts Most Joint Operations With Afghan Forces

What good does COIN do when the fucking Afghan military is saturated with Taliban? This nation building shit is a piss-poor substitute for fighting a war.

From Fox News.

The U.S. military has suspended the bulk of joint field operations with Afghan troops amid a wave of so-called insider attacks and concern about protests over an anti-Islam film.

Fox News has learned that while U.S. troops are still patrolling, as are the Afghans, the two sides are not running operations together for the time being without special approval.

Until now, U.S. and NATO troops routinely conducted operations with their Afghan counterparts. But under the new order, such operations will now require the approval of a regional commander. Fox News was told the step is a temporary measure.

The move comes after Afghan police on Sunday killed four American Soldiers, and a gunman in an Afghan militia uniform shot dead two British soldiers a day earlier.

……So far this year, 51 international troops have been killed by Afghan forces or militants wearing their uniforms. The attacks have spiked in recent months, damaging the trust between the NATO and Afghan forces at a time when ongoing training and cooperation are critical in order for allied troops to leave Afghanistan by the end of 2014 and turn control of security over to the Afghan forces.

Back in 2007, I said this:
“If you need a definition of victory, here it is: It’s when we have crushed the Islamofascists to the point where they realize that messing with the “Great Satan” is far more costly than simply practicing their religion peacefully, without using Islam and bombs as instruments of terrorism. It’s when Iraq and Afghanistan develop stable infrastructures (executive, judicial, legislative, and military) that can stand on their own and protect themselves from the extremists who want to stop the progress of democracy, and (this is very important) when the 150+ major tribes and the close to 2000 smaller clans are able to live, work, and govern in a compromised co-existence. The first steps have already been taken. They have been given a chance to change the course of their lives from fear and oppression to opportunity, basic human rights, and a voice in their futures.”

Iraq, in spite of recent sporadic violence, is much more stable than Afghanistan, which is still a filthy pit of Islamofascist excrement.

Obama’s  craven “winning isn’t necessarily the goal” strategy has drawn this mission out far longer than it ever should have been. But that’s how President Punch-drunk rolls with the Middle East.

As I always point out:  Islamic terrorists are trained, funded, supported, and indoctrinated across the Middle East. I’d have neutron-bombed 3/4ths of that cesspool on 12 September 2001.  Any threat within the U.S. would be deported to the ruins of the former Islamic nation-states.  There would be no muslim problem because very few, if any, would be left.  THAT’s how you fight a jihad.

The only way to defeat an enemy is to “Cry ‘Havoc’, and let slip the dogs of war, that this foul deed shall smell above the earth with carrion men, groaning for burial”.

One day, we might have a leader who understands that.
