It’s about time.
UPDATE:
Chip Roy just torched the Southern Poverty Law Centerâs selective outrage machine in a congressional hearing:
Chip Roy:Â In 2012, the Family Research Council was attacked, and the guard at the front of the building was shot. The head of the Family Research Council, Tony Perkins, made note at the time of the Southern Poverty Law Centerâs involvement in putting the Family Research Council on its so-called âhate map.â Has the SPLC ever acknowledged that its designation contributed to that attack?
Bryan Fair:Â Congressman Royâ
Chip Roy:Â Yes or no?
Bryan Fair:Â I canât answer that question with a yes or no. You asked me if Iâ
Chip Roy:Â Did they retract, correct, or reconsider the listing of the Family Research Council on its hate map?
Bryan Fair:Â The Family Research Council is listed on our hate map because it meets the criteria.
Chip Roy:Â To this day, you continue to keep the Family Research Council on its hate map. Is that true?
Bryan Fair:Â The Family Research Council remains on the hate map because it meets the criteria that we use forâ
Chip Roy:Â Which criteria?
Bryan Fair:Â The Family Research Council is an anti-LGBTQâ
Chip Roy:Â Okay, so on your website, you used to have language defending your position on the Family Research Council, and you had language saying that other groups, like Focus on the Family, were not included, and you used that as your defense. Well, that language is now gone, and Focus on the Family is now noted as a hate group. Can you explain that?
Bryan Fair:Â Congressman Roy, we take no pleasure in listing any group, and we wish the list was empty. But we have the constitutional right to express our opinionâ
Chip Roy:Â How many leftist, anti-Jewish groups do you have listed on your website?
Bryan Fair:Â Weâ
Chip Roy:Â Name them.
Bryan Fair:Â Anyone listening to this can go to our website and see ourâagain, our Year in Hate and Extremism report was released this morning.
Chip Roy:Â How many extremist Islamic groups do you have among the 1,500 or so organizations you have on your hate map?
Bryan Fair:Â Again, anyone can go to our website.
Chip Roy:Â My office has been looking over it, and we canât really find one.
Bryan Fair:Â Again, it is the SPLCâsâ
Chip Roy:Â Do you think the SPLC could provide us a list of the Islamic-oriented groups you have on your hate map?
Bryan Fair:Â Mr. Roy, we donât target any group because of its religion.
Chip Roy:Â Really?
Bryan Fair:Â I want to be clear about that.
Chip Roy:Â Really?
Bryan Fair:Â Yes, thatâs exactly right. We target no group because of its religion. We target groups because they express statements and engage in activities that demean and vilifyâ
Chip Roy:Â So you brought up LGBTQ groups a second ago. You brought up LGBT groups a minute ago. So you think thereâs a bunch of Islamic groups that are pro-LGBTQ? Is that the position of the SPLC? I just want to make sure the record reflects that.
Bryan Fair:Â Mr. Roy, as I said, we target no group and label no group because of its religion. We target groups and label groups because of what they say about others. And we have a constitutional right to do that, and we will continue to do that.
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche on the Southern Poverty Law Center Indictment: âAs the indictment describes, the SPLC was not dismantling these groups. It was instead manufacturing the extremism it purports to oppose by paying sources to stoke racial hatred.â
It’s straight out of Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals. Create disruption, manufacture chaos, provoke conflict, and incite violence as a means of change.

The latest indictment reveals the SPLC paid for KKK cross burnings, robes and hoods, recruitment, living expenses, and racist merch.
That’s how it stays in business.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is under investigation by the Department of Justice, according to a video the group released on Tuesday.
In a video message posted to YouTube, interim President and CEO Bryan Fair blamed Republicans for targeting the law center in the past and labeling it as âpartisan and profitable,â adding that the probe will focus on the organizationâs use of confidential informants.
âAlthough we donât know all the details, the focus appears to be on the SPLCâs prior use of paid confidential informants to gather credible intelligence on extremely violent groups,â he said.
…….Fair added, âWe did not, however, share our use of informants broadly with anyone to protect the identity and safety of the informants and their families. And while we no longer work with paid informants, we continue to take their safety seriously.â
The case is being led by the U.S. Attorneyâs Office for the Middle District of Alabama, according to sources with direct knowledge who spoke with CBS News.
…….The Capital Research Centerâs work regarding the SPLC tells a different story, however, one where the group uses a massive war chest that rivals large universities and hospitals, while exhibiting extreme political bias unfit for a non-profit entity.
âThe Southern Poverty Law Center is perhaps most notorious for its âhate map,â which not only neglects to track extremist groups on the left, but also lumps mainstream conservative and religious organizations right alongside some of the most reprehensible neo-Nazis and white supremacists in the country,â a CRC article from 2025 reads.
âThe controversial activist group has also become phenomenally wealthy, with an endowment rivaling prominent universities and annual revenues exceeding some of the most well-known charities in the country,â it continued.
The group was also called out for its frequent use of the words âurgentâ or âemergencyâ when soliciting cash from prospective donors, despite an October 2024 disclosure revealing $786.7 million in net assets, most of which was reportedly in public and private equity funds.
It also enjoys the tax benefits of a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity despite its activities being âhighly controversial and divisive,â the CRC piece contended.
The 2017 Charlottesville âUnite the Rightâ rally illustrated how the model worked at peak efficiency. SPLC revenue before Charlottesville was $51.8 million. After Charlottesville, it surged to $133.4 million. Corporate America responded: then-Apple CEO Tim Cook pledged $1 million, JPMorgan Chase gave $500,000, George Clooneyâs foundation donated $1 million, and MGM pledged to match employee contributions.
The Google Foundation had already provided $250,000 in 2016. George Sorosâs Open Society Foundation pledged $75,000 in 2016 to convene an âAnti-Hate Tableâ of national organizations.
What those donors did not know, according to the DOJ indictment, was that an SPLC informant paid $270,000 over eight years had been a member of the leadership chat group that planned the Charlottesville rally and helped coordinate transportation for attendees.
The Soros connection to the SPLC runs deeper than that single documented grant. The SPLC has established a fund housed at the Tides Foundation, the leftâs primary fiscal intermediary, called Vote Your Voice, committing $130 million over ten years to voter engagement organizations across the Deep South.
Soros has donated more than $7 million to Tides over the years, meaning Soros money flows into Tides and Tides infrastructure flows to SPLC programs. The arrangement also provides political cover: grants distributed through Tides carry Tidesâ name rather than the SPLCâs, obscuring the origin of the funds to grantees and the public alike.
While raising tens of millions annually from American donors on civil rights appeals, the SPLC was simultaneously moving hundreds of millions offshore. The Washington Free Beaconâs 2017 investigation, drawing directly from the SPLCâs own IRS filings, Form 8865, Form 926, and Form 990-T, documented specific transfers: $960,000 to Tiger Global Private Investment Partners IX in the Cayman Islands on November 24, 2014; $102,007 to BPV-III Cayman X Limited and $157,574 to BPV-III Cayman XI Limited on the same Grand Cayman PO Box in December 2014; and two separate $2.2 million transfers on March 1, 2015, to entities in Cayman Bay, Cayman Islands.
The SPLCâs 2015 Form 990-T separately disclosed financial interests in the British Virgin Islands and Bermuda. Amy Sterling Casil, CEO of nonprofit consulting firm Pacific Human Capital, called the offshore transfers âa huge red flagâ and said she knew of âno legitimate reason for any U.S.-based nonprofit to put money in overseas, unregulated bank accounts.â By 2021, the SPLCâs non-U.S. equity holdings had grown from $44 million in 2013 to $233 million, a 430 percent increase.
The SPLC paid more than $3 million between 2014 and 2023 to individuals associated with extremist groups, including the Ku Klux Klan, the National Alliance, the National Socialist Movement, and the online leadership group that planned the 2017 “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville, Virginia
Payments included over $1 million to a single informant infiltrating the neo-Nazi National Alliance, who stole 25 boxes of documents from the groupâs headquarters, and approximately $270,000 to another informant involved in planning and coordinating transportation for the Charlottesville rally, which resulted in one death and dozens of injuries.Â
The SPLCÂ is a criminal enterprise. It uses threats, intimidation, and extortion-based lawsuits as a money-making racket. Former exec Morris Dees, Mark Potok, Larry Keller and David Holthouse, are not averse to using smear tactics, taking advantage of victimsâ families, leveling false accusations, and labeling black conservatives with pejorative racial terms.
This is coming from an organization that pretends to be a champion of minorities and civil rights. Itâs actually a bastion of leftwing intolerance and hate.
Not to mention that some of their former CEOs were accused of sexual misconduct and racial discrimination.Â
The SPLC also targeted The Federalist for publishing then-Attorney General Jeff Sessionsâ speech to Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF).
Morris Dees was accused by his ex-wife of molesting his 16 year old step daughter.
Thomas Jurgens, a staff attorney for the SPLC, was charged with domestic terrorism by the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, during the “Stop Cop” terrorist attacks at the construction site of a police and firefighter training center in Atlanta, Georgia.

Theyâre all shitbags.
