FBI Agent Who Falsified Carter Page FISA Application Gets Probation

I don’t ever want to hear anyone say that “no one is above the law”. This is another example that belies that statement.

This piece of shit helped in the attempted coup d’etat against President Trump.  The DOJ is a fucking joke.

Former FBI lawyer Kevin Clinesmith was sentenced Friday to one year of probation and 400 hours of community service for altering an email during the Russia investigation that was used as grounds for the surveillance of former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

Back in August, Clinesmith pleaded guilty to “one count of making a false statement within both the jurisdiction of the executive branch and judicial branch of the U.S. government, an offense that carries a maximum term of imprisonment of five years and a fine of up to $250,000.”

Clinesmith, who worked at the FBI for four years, had altered the email in the beginning stages of the bureau’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and potential collusion with the Trump campaign.

He changed another official’s June 2017 email to say that Page was “not a source” for the CIA. In a memo, however, the agency had previously informed investigators that Page from 2008 to 2013 was an “operational contact” for it and provided information about his contacts with Russian intelligence officers. Page has said, too, that he was a source for the agency.

Friday’s Clinesmith sentencing is so far the only criminal charge related to Special Counsel John Durham‘s investigation into the origins of the Trump-Russia probe. The investigation began in May 2019 after then-Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded his yearlong Russia investigation, which produced no evidence of collusion between Russian officials and the Trump campaign during the 2016 election.

Newly declassified records detail the FBI’s plans to surveil Carter Page and show that the Trump campaign associate’s secretly recorded denials of allegations made in British ex-spy Christopher Steele’s discredited dossier were not relayed to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court.

Stefan Halper, a Cambridge professor and confidential human source dubbed “Source 2” in DOJ inspector general Michael Horowitz’s FISA abuse report, worked as an FBI informant in 2016 and recorded discussions with at least three Trump 2016 campaign members: Page, campaign foreign policy adviser George Papadopoulos, and Campaign co-Chairman Sam Clovis.

The newly declassified documents include a partial transcript of a secretly recorded conversation between Halper and Page in late October 2016, just after Page, dubbed “Crossfire Dragon,” left Trump’s campaign.

The FBI memo dated Nov. 16, 2016, revealed “the FBI had recently learned that CD was traveling to London, U.K. and Johannesburg, South Africa,” and “the goal of the meeting was to have the CHS determine the reason for CD’s overseas travel” and unearth “any connections with the Russian Federation.”

An FBI subheading titled “Defense of Media Accusations” showed Page denied knowing Igor Sechin and Igor Diveykin, mentioned in the dossier — denials not relayed to the FISA Court.

What the fuck is Durham doing? He’s got an entire Obama regime to investigate for high crimes and misdemeanors.

The illegal wiretapping, FISA abuse, and the attempted overthrow of a duly elected President went all the way to Obama’s Oval Office.

William Barr acknowledged that himself.

Every shitbird in the Obama regime, including Barky, should be indicted for their crimes.  We know that won’t happen because there’s a two-tiered justice system that favors Dems.
