The brutal Islamofascist dictatorship has returned.
The Taliban took control of Bagram Air Base on Sunday, a former American airbase that the U.S turned over to the Afghanistan government last month.
The Taliban have reportedly released thousands of prisoners that were held at Bagram, including members of al Qaeda, the terror group that carried out the 9-11 attacks and prompted the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in 2001. Bagram was under control of the U.S. military for roughly two decades before leaving it in control of the Afghan military in July as the U.S. pulled out of Afghanistan.
“The Taliban claims it overran Bagram Air Base and freed prisoners. Many high-value detainees were located there, including members of Al Qaeda. This will reverberate for years to come,” said Bill Roggio, Long War Journal editor, and terror analyst.
The Afghan military handed the base to the Taliban after militant forces entered Kabul. The Afghan president, Ashraf Ghani, fled the country with $169 million in taxpayer cash. He had so much looted money with him when he fled that not all of it would fit in his helicopter. He was forced to leave money lying on the tarmac.
This sums up Biden’s total incompetence:
Secretary of State Antony Blinken said he fears U.S. troops would have come under Taliban attack if they’d remained in Afghanistan any longer. In an interview on Sunday, Blinken tried to defend Joe Biden’s plan to withdraw troops, despite having to redeploy them amid a Taliban takeover.
Biden has taken heat over the move after saying just last month that it was unlikely the Taliban would overrun the country.
……“Like it or not, there was an agreement that the forces would come out May 1. Had they not, had we not begun that process, which is what the President did and the Taliban saw, then we would have been back at war with the Taliban,” stated Blinken.
We’ll see the Taliban again, either in another country, or in ours if they decide to cross Biden’s open border.
Biden and his regime have been stunned by the speed of the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan. That’s strange. He thought that a ruthless Islamic terrorist group that had Afghanistan under its thumb and was just waiting for the chance to do it again, would sit on their asses with the American weapons and equipment they captured and simply wait until he was finished safely evacuating everyone from the embassy.
Stunned.
