The Minneapolis Democratic Party chair came under fire Tuesday for praising last year’s torching of the Third Precinct police headquarters as an “act of pure righteousness.”
Devin Hogan, who heads the Minneapolis Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, extolled the rioters and blamed law enforcement in an Aug. 2 op-ed for the precinct’s destruction at the hands of rioters on May 28, 2020, three days after the death of George Floyd in police custody.
“Like it or not, setting the Third Precinct on fire was a genuine revolutionary moment. An act of pure righteousness to open new worlds of understanding,” Mr. Hogan said in Southside Pride. “The people declared themselves ungovernable and unilaterally took their power back. The largest international human rights movement in modern history had begun. The youth of Minneapolis carried all of this. The cops started it.”
His comments came with national Democrats seeking to distance themselves from the Black Lives Matter call to “defund the police” as Republicans link the movement to spiking crime in major U.S. cities.
“More proof Democrats only care about advancing their radical agenda, not the safety of Americans,” tweeted Rep. Tom Emmer, Minnesota Republican, who chairs the National Republican Congressional Committee.
Mike Berg, NRCC deputy communications director, asked: “Burning police stations is righteous?”
He called on Minnesota Democrats in Congress to respond to Mr. Hogan’s claims.
“Do [Reps.] Dean Phillips and Angie Craig agree that these rioters were justified in lighting a police station on fire? Will they condemn Hogan?” Mr. Berg said in a statement.
Not backing down was Mr. Hogan, who tweeted: “Fetishizing decorum over substance is a hallmark of white supremacy.”
……Four men have been charged and sentenced to prison for their roles in stoking the precinct fire: Bryce Michael Williams, 27; Davon De-Andre Turner, 25; Branden Michael Wolfe, 23, and Dylan Shakespeare Robinson, 23.
The perpetrators also were ordered to pay the city $12 million in restitution.
“All four defendants charged in federal court have now been sentenced for their individual roles in the burning and near total destruction of the Minneapolis Police Department’s Third Precinct building,” said Acting U.S. Attorney W. Anders Folk in a June 7 statement. “Mr. Williams and his co-defendants have been held accountable for their dangerous and destructive actions.”
Throwing the deck of race cards is what the Left does when sane people oppose the violence they support.
Most of the Antifa/BLM goons responsible for murders, the destruction of neighborhood businesses, police stations, and courthouses, have skated out of any legal consequences for their crimes. The Feds refuse to prosecute. Violent anarchists still roam the streets, and they always make bail and pick up where they left off.
The Dems are fine with that shit because the mobs haven’t breached their gated communities. They have armed security for their ivory towers and couldn’t care less about the consequences of their depraved indifference. Meanwhile, police are being defunded and the animals are running the zoos in Dem cities.

……Unfortunately for residents of the Minneapolis community, activists aren’t always responsive to their cries for help.
When Joseph Menkevich found a black man passed out in the elevator of his apartment building in the Powderhorn Park neighborhood, he phoned a “community activist,” but got no response, according to the NYT. Menkevich then went on to bemoan how he had to resort to calling 911 which resulted in the arrival of an ambulance accompanied by white cop.
“It didn’t resolve in a way that I had hoped,” Menkevich said, per the Times.
……When Mitchell Erickson found himself cornered by two black teens in his Minneapolis neighborhood, he called the cops– but later chose to help the criminals because he felt guilty.
Erickson called the police on the two teens who pointed a gun at his chest and demanded his car keys in his Powderhorn Park neighborhood— a decision that he says he regrets. Now, he won’t cooperate with prosecutors, and says he wishes he could have helped the teens even more.
“I regret calling the police. It was my instinct but I wish it hadn’t been. I put those boys in danger of death by calling the cops” he told the New York Times. “I haven’t been forced to think like this before. So I would have lost my car. So what? At least no one would have been killed,” he concluded.
My God, these morons are incredible. Yeah, go ahead, call a social worker or AIM, or anyone but real law enforcement. Let them rob, rape, carjack and even kill you because “white privilege” somehow factors into your lunacy. The real solution is to fight back, stand your ground and stop putting up with the thugs in your neighborhood, but you’re too goddamned ‘woke’. You deserve every bit of humiliation and crime you get.
