The suspect accused of plowing a truck through a crowd on Bourbon Street early Wednesday morning has been identified by a law enforcement source as 42-year-old Shamsud Din Jabbar.
Police fatally shot him after the attack, which killed 10 people and injured 35.
The source said Jabbar was carrying an ISIS flag in the truck, and authorities have said he was dressed in military gear.
He reportedly flew an ISIS flag on his truck. The cops covered it up.
An Islamic State flag was found in the pickup truck that was driven into a crowd of partygoers in New Orleans on Wednesday morning, the FBI said.
The agency confirmed the attacker’s name as Shamsud-Din Jabbar and said he was a US citizen who came from Texas.
It said “potential explosive devices” were found in the area, separate to the where the attack took place.
Ten people were killed and at least 35 injured when Jabbar ploughed a white Ford pickup truck through a crowd celebrating the New Year on Bourbon Street, one of America’s most iconic drinking spots.
Jabbar, who was described as being dressed in “full military gear,” was killed in a shoot-out with officers after he exited the vehicle and fired a weapon, striking two officers.
“We do not believe that Jabbar was solely responsible”, Alethea Duncan FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge said.
A reported terror attack hit New Orleans this morning with at least 12 people dead and at least 35 injured.
Fox News reported a driver in a white pick-up truck intentionally plowed a car into a crowd of New Year’s gatherers on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, according to authorities.
The driver exited the vehicle and fired a weapon after hitting the crowd. Two police officers were reportedly injured in the gunfight.
There was a significant police presence and emergency vehicles at the scene. The 30 people have been transported to five hospitals.
The suspect died during the gunfight with police. It is unclear at this point if it was suicide by cop or he took his own life.
New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell called the incident a “terrorist attack” at a news conference.
…….Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick confirmed the person’s behavior was “very intentional” and “was trying to run over as many people as he possibly could.”
…….The FBI also revealed that improvised explosive devices were found. Fox News reported investigators are working to confirm whether the devices are viable.
The FBI suspects that Jabbar did not act alone.
In his New Year’s press conference concerning the New Orleans terrorist attack that took the lives of 15 people and injured dozens of others, President Joe Biden expressed confidence from Camp David that the FBI is “working nonstop to investigate this heinous act.”
“The FBI is leading the investigation to determine what happened, why it happened, and whether there was any continuing threat to public safety,” Biden said.
Biden might trust the FBI to handle investigations like the one into Shamsud-Din Jabbar’s allegedly ISIS-inspired massacre on Bourbon Street, but Americans who have seen the nation’s premier law enforcement agency weaponize itself against the Biden regime’s political opponents overwhelmingly don’t.
The FBI claims protecting the nation from terrorist attacks is its “number one priority.” Yet the agency spent recent years redirecting its attention and resources from top issues like violent criminal acts that lead to mass casualties and child sex abuse cases to arresting meemaws for walking around the U.S. Capitol grounds on January 6, 2021 and praying at abortion facilities.
The FBI’s laundry list of corruption extends far beyond smearing Catholics, concerned parents, and Trump voters as domestic terrorists, manufacturing scandals like the Russia collusion hoax, killing the Hunter Biden laptop bombshell, raiding the home of a former and future president even if it required “deadly force,” and interfering in elections. Yet, the DEI-plagued agency, despite its discrediting track record, is routinely accepted as the lead on investigations into real terrorism.
The FBI wholly disqualified itself from being the lead on the New Orleans investigation when it deemed anyone questioning the regime guilty of wrongthink at the same time it allowed, entrapped, and even groomed true threats. How can an entity that openly hyper-fixated its best efforts on “white supremacy” accurately and adequately evaluate a threat as serious and as widespread as Islamic terrorism? It can’t.
Even if it wasn’t politicized to its very core, the FBI’s incompetence and malfeasance no doubt hinder its ability to evaluate actual extremism and the threat it poses. The assistant special agent in charge of the New Orleans investigation claimed with a straight face that even though a man deliberately rammed a rented truck through a crowd, and even though “improvised explosive devices” were found, “this is not a terrorist event.”
Her downplaying directly followed comments from New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell, who opened the Wednesday morning press conference by definitively stating that her city was “impacted by a terrorist attack.” It was also quickly followed by a statement from the FBI confirming that the agency was indeed investigating the tragedy as an “act of terrorism.”
The fact that a terrorist attack even happened in New Orleans is a failure of the agency, which takes every opportunity to boast when it foils alleged plots. The fact that the FBI, with its long history of pretending its political enemies are domestic terrorists, is leading the Bourbon Street investigation is a failure of our out-of-control bureaucracy — and one that must be remedied as soon as the next administration is inaugurated.
Reports also indicate he was a U.S. Army veteran who was an information technology specialist at one point. Remember Nidal Hasan, the muzzie officer who killed 14 Soldiers at Ft. Hood? He was the same kind of jihadist. Muzzies should not be allowed in the US military.
