Immunity acquired from a Covid infection provides strong, lasting protection against the most severe outcomes of the illness, according to research published Thursday in The Lancet — protection, experts say, that’s on par with what’s provided through two doses of an mRNA vaccine.
Infection-acquired immunity cut the risk of hospitalization and death from a Covid reinfection by 88% for at least 10 months, the study found.
“This is really good news, in the sense that protection against severe disease and death after infection is really quite sustained at 10 months,” said the senior study author, Dr. Christopher Murray, the director of the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington.

Still, experts stress that vaccination is the preferable route to immunity, given the risks of Covid, particularly in unvaccinated people.
I had covid and so did other members of my family. We never took the vax and we recovered without relying on the advice of the government or basket cases who hung on to every word from an incompetent unethical liar. No amount of hysteria, jackbooted intimidation, hectoring, and agitprop will change that. All the sweaty balls of sanctimony can go fuck themselves.
Same goes for that profitable, toxic vax they’re hustling.
This country was shut down over a virus with a 99.9% recovery rate. 26 million Americans became unemployed. The government’s feckless “jab or job” policy caused people to lose their homes, livelihoods, and businesses because of this induced panic. The economic impact will take years to overcome.
I never wore a mask, period. I will not get any experimental government vaccine injected into my body. I had covid in 2020. So did other members of my family. It sucked. It was like having a bad case of the flu for a couple of weeks, but we recovered just fine. That’s something the liberal media hacks and government won’t admit; the recovery rate far exceeds the fatalities. And that the numbers of deaths from the virus were deliberately inflated. Another fact they conveniently overlook is that 78% of people hospitalized with covid were obese or had pre-existing medical problems.
That’s not good for the narrative.
