Yep, the country’s in good hands.
Sen. Susan Collins on Wednesday blasted the Defense Department for classifying the Fort Hood massacre as workplace violence and suggested political correctness is being placed above the security of the nation’s Armed Forces at home.
During a joint session of the Senate and House Homeland Security Committee on Wednesday, the Maine Republican referenced a letter from the Defense Department depicting the Fort Hood shootings as workplace violence. She criticized the Obama administration for failing to identify the threat as radical Islam.
Thirteen people were killed and dozens more wounded at Fort Hood in 2009, and the number of alleged plots targeting the military has grown significantly since then. Lawmakers said there have been 33 plots against the U.S. military since Sept. 11, 2001, and 70 percent of those threats have been since mid-2009. Major Nidal Hasan, a former Army psychiatrist, who is being held for the attacks, allegedly was inspired by radical U.S.-born cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Yemen in late September. The two men exchanged as many as 20 emails, according to U.S. officials, and Awlaki declared Hasan a hero.
The chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, Connecticut independent Sen. Joe Lieberman, said the military has become a “direct target of violent Islamist extremism” within the United States.
“The stark reality is that the American service member is increasingly in the terrorists’ scope and not just overseas in a traditional war setting,” Lieberman told Fox News before the start of Wednesday’s hearing.
In June, two men allegedly plotted to attack a Seattle, Wash., military installation using guns and grenades. In July, Army Pvt. Naser Abdo was accused of planning a second attack on Fort Hood. And in November, New York police arrested Jose Pimentel, who allegedly sought to kill service members returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.
Both Pimentel and Abdo also allegedly drew inspiration from al-Awlaki and the online jihadist magazine Inspire, which includes a spread on how to “Make a Bomb in the Kitchen of Your Mom.”
Rep. Peter King of New York, the Republican chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, said military service members are “symbols of America’s power, symbols of America’s might.”
“And if they (military personnel) can be killed, then that is a great propaganda victory for al Qaeda, ” King told Fox News.
King said there is also evidence that extremists have joined the services.

Gee Pete, ya think? What was your first clue?
That so-called “workplace violence” at Ft. Hood was carried out by a muslim immersed in Islamic ideology, and nurtured by like-minded peers.
I was in the 101st Airborne Division when SGT Asan Akbar, a muslim convert, used grenades and his M4 to kill CPT. Christopher Scott Seifert, an S2 Officer in one of our brigades, and wound 15 others at Camp Pennsylvania in Kuwait. Akbar should be glad none of us were able to get our hands on him. He wouldn’t have made it to trial. The DOD probably classifies that as “workplace violence” too.
The episode is unsettling for a number of reasons, most of all because it exposes a fact about our military that commanders have tried their best to ignore: the presence of radical, anti-American Muslims in the ranks. Akbar reportedly said when he was captured: “You guys are coming into our countries and you’re going to rape our women and kill our children.” It’s increasingly clear that there is a small group of Soldiers for whom anti-American fatwas issued in mosques around the world supersede the oath of loyalty they took to their nation.
The Pentagon has been complicit in the collaboration with Islamic extremists since almost immediately after 9/11. Just months after the attacks, while murdered military personnel were being laid to rest and reconstruction of the damage to the Pentagon was ongoing, the Brass invited Anwar al Awlaki, who turned out to be Nidal Hasan’s mentor, to dinner. Awlaki also trained U.S. Army chaplains.
Egyptian-born terrorist Hesham H. Islam was actually hired as a Pentagon aide, and caused the firing of Major Stephen Coughlin, an intelligence analyst who questioned Islam’s access to classified information and briefed the connection between groups like the Muslim Brotherhood and terrorism.
The DOD’s approach to this war reflects incompetence and malfeasance of the worst kind. American troops are fighting the very muslim terrorists supported by the partisans and proponents in our own government.
Instead of no-nonsense targeting of muslim terrorists through policy and action, we get bullshit like this:
Paul N. Stockton, assistant secretary of defense for homeland defense…was asked repeatedly by Rep. Daniel E. Lungren, California Republican, about his refusal to use the word “Islamic” or “Islamist” when describing al Qaeda, Stockton said branding terrorists as Muslims plays into their narrative that the United States is at war with Islam.
“Sir, with great respect, I don’t believe it’s helpful to frame our adversary as ‘Islamic’ with any set of qualifiers that we might add, because we are not at war with Islam,” he said.

Stockton has no fucking idea that Islam is the entire premise behind the muslim’s war with us.
From a previous post:
Janet “Big Sis” Napolitano’s idea of homeland security is to make America safe against Iraq war veterans, gun owners, illegal immigration opponents, Obama’s critics, and white, middle-class Americans. Under her guidance, terrorism is now designated as ‘man-caused disasters. Matter of fact, she’s held meetings with the perpetrators of such ‘disasters’, in a gesture of good will.
The TSA even invited Islamic extremists to train their personnel in the proper way to apply PC methods to muslim terrorists in our airports.
And then there’s Obama. His affinity for radical muslims, has a lengthy history. His domestic and foreign policies regarding Islamic aggression reflect a dyed-in-the-wool Dhimmi.
……To punctuate his wistful ‘muslim outreach’ policy, he removed ‘Islamic extremism’ from the national security lexicon, announced that we are ‘not at war’ with Islam, created touchy-feely ROE in Afghanistan, and shoveled thousands of dollars into the coffers of major Islamic terrorist organizations.
For the muslims’ part, they show their peace-loving side by murdering American Soldiers right here at home, planning more murders, and attempting to weave Islamic indoctrination into the fabric of American public schools.
To top it off, muslim extremists from CAIR planted interns in the offices of Congressional lawmakers, in an effort to influence national security policy.
What we’ve got is a Dhimmi-in-Chief, a useless DHS, and a Pentagon bureaucracy more interested in not offending the enemy than doing what it takes to defeat them.
What in the hell would possess the military commanders in the Pentagon to go out of their way and welcome radical muslim thugs into an inner sanctum of military and defense operations?
Foreign and homegrown muslim extremists abetted by Islamic nation-states across the Middle East, have infiltrated our military hierarchy and levels of government at the invitation of intellectually bankrupt and morally corrupt officials.
Americans have to demand that Congress and the DOD stop this shit. If we don’t get another president in office in 2012 that gives a damn about how we fight this war, who is responsible for our national security, who is allowed access to our military, and holding those who are entrusted with protecting the United States accountable for their criminal lapse of judgment, our chances of having any kind of real homeland security is non-existent.

This is a frightening example of how the Islamists use our system, especially the political correctness ideas, to infiltrate our country and attempt to bring us down. At bottom, they want to substitute their barbaric sharia law for our system which respects human dignity.
We need to vote out the current government, especially the president, to preserve the rights our country stands for.
