Social media platforms and Big Tech companies have been slowly working to censor content on their platforms more efficiently.
Emma Llanso, Director of Free Expression at the Center for Democracy and Technology, wrote in an op-ed for Wired that the response to the New Zealand mass shooting in March brought the internet to a terrifying reality. Tech companies have only emphasized more “increasingly centralized and opaque censorship of the global internet.”
Llanso pointed out that Facebook’s announcement detailing plans of countering terrorism is already taking steps towards automatic censorship. The Global Internet Forum to Counter Terrorism, composed of Facebook, Microsoft, Twitter and YouTube, was launched in 2017 to help sites regulate themselves and remove content that could potentially be illegal. However, the forum has “a shared database of hashes of files identified by the participating companies to be “extreme and egregious” terrorist content.”
Facebook wrote in a blog post on March 18 that it was adding more content to this database. The company stressed “industry cooperation” and wrote that it helpfully “identified abusive content” on other sites.
But Facebook was not alone: Microsoft President Brad Smith wrote that he was interested in building a “safe search engine” that “blocked the accessing of such content at the point when people attempt to view and download it.” Smith emphasized “healthier online environments,” and said that “it doesn’t help when online interaction normalizes in cyberspace standards of behavior that almost all of us would consider unacceptable in the real world.”
Llanso wrote that the hash database suffered from a complete lack of transparency and accountability. “No one outside of the consortium of companies knows what is in the database,” she said. “People whose posts are removed or accounts disabled on participating sites aren’t even notified if the hash database was involved.”
The bleak reality of just how much power these companies have is manifested in the fact that internet service providers in Australia actually blocked websites from users until the websites had removed offending content. In New Zealand, posting blocked content could lead to jail time.
Government censorship plays into this as well. The U.K.’s new proposals for a “regulatory regime” would most likely rely on automatic censorship and blacklist databases in order to satisfy its standards. Countries such as China and Russia already heavily regulate and block automatically online, with no free speech safeguards.
The only “extreme and egregious” terrorist content” they focus on are the conservative viewpoints that rattle their leftwing cages.
Case in point: Conservative pundit Paul Joseph Watson got death threats from a muzzie Facebook page, but according to Facebook it ‘doesn’t violate community standards’.
Lauren Southern, a conservative commentator, was banned from Facebook for 30 days because she posted a comment that criticized the left-leaning hierarchy’s habit of censoring opposing viewpoints. The irony is lost on The Zuck.
Zuck’s minions also banned links to Zerohedge.
Conservative sites have been suspended over Zuckerberg’s political preferences, but leftie radicals, muzzie terrorists and their mouthpieces, and videos demonstrating adult sex acts to kids, are relatively unscathed.
Twitter is just as bad. Jack Dorsey’s drones ban people whenever they see something they don’t like. An undercover video from Project Veritas shows Twitter employees bragging on their censorship skills against conservatives.
Twitter’s co-founder Evan Williams isn’t a fan of free speech. He’s pretty pissed that social media provides an outlet for the patriotic opposition to circumvent liberal control of the mainstream media. He says that he ‘was wrong for thinking that the world would be a better place if there was a platform for everyone to freely speak and exchange ideas.’ Really? Leftwingnuts want to live in a world where everyone listens only to them, on their terms. Last I checked, the 1st amendment guarantees that right to everyone.
One of the ways the Twitter hierarchy has been censoring unwanted political viewpoints is ‘shadow banning’. Twitter maintains a ‘whitelist’ of favored Twitter accounts and a ‘blacklist’ of unfavored accounts. Accounts on the whitelist are prioritized in search results, accounts on the blacklist have their posts hidden from both search results and other users’ timelines. The blacklist usually consists of right-leaning posters. Leftwing lunatic fringe, anti-white racists, and muzzie zealots are acceptable. I am constantly being censored on Twitter and Facebook for telling the truth about ‘the religion of peace’.
Twitter also banned conservative street artist Sabo.
As if that weren’t enough, even conservative employees at Twitter don’t feel safe to express their personal opinions.
Microsoft has jumped on the censorship bandwagon by declaring war on free speech and “offensive language”. They also installed a “NewsGuard” function to label debunked Russia hoax stories as ‘credible’.
Google thinks the web should be controlled because free speech is unacceptable. It has also created a ‘news blacklist‘ to manipulate search results.

I no longer use their browser. I stick to DuckDuckGo as a search engine and Brave as my main browser. Neither one tracks users.
Gab is an alternative site that promotes and supports free speech. Everything from alt-right to alt-left is permitted. If you don’t like an opinion, you can debate all day without fear of censorship. I joined the site in 2016, and I’m very pleased with it. It’s free to join. I encourage anyone who is fed up with the bullshit at Twitter and Facebook to give it a try. You won’t be disappointed.
There’s escalating collusion between governments and social media conglomerates with common leftwing agenda. Their mutual jackbooted methods are incredibly oppressive and tyrannical.
It’s happening across Europe; in Germany and Britain in particular. The respective governments have actually made it a crime to criticize the very murderous Islamic ‘culture’ that slaughters their citizens, refuses to assimilate and has established ‘no-go zones’ and enclaves for their Sharia-based oppression.
