Protests over the police beating death of Tyre Nichols turned violent in Times Square Friday night as several arrests were made, including of a man who stomped on the windshield of an NYPD police cruiser.
At least three people were handcuffed in the Crossroads of the World after getting into some sort of confrontation with police in the street.
In another chaotic scene, one of the protesters hopped on the hood of a police car and cracked the windshield with his foot. Several police officers quickly moved in to grab the man and then they led him through the crowd into a police precinct, footage shows.
The Times Square protest was one of several that erupted in the Big Apple as the sun went down. Others originated in Union Square and Grand Central Terminal.
While the night began peacefully, tensions between protesters and NYPD officers grew as it got later into the night.
Earlier that evening, Hawk Newsome, the co-founder of Black Lives Matter of Greater New York, warned at Union Square that violence wasn’t off the table.
……Nichols died earlier this month after he was pulled over by police, and the five cops involved in the traffic stop were charged with murder Thursday.
The 29-year-old black man’s death has sparked condemnation from leaders across the country as they urge peaceful demonstrations following the release of the graphic footage that shows Nichols pummeled and tased by officers, who are all black.
New York was one of several cities across the country where protests were underway.
The reason he was stopped in the first place has not been answered.
Notice that the Dems and the acronymed government agencies are selective about what they deem as “riots” and “domestic terrorism“.
Antifa and BLM goons responsible for the destruction of neighborhoods, businesses, police stations, and courthouses, have skated out of any legal consequences for their crimes. The Feds refuse to prosecute.
Antifa has taken over the KKK’s role as the terrorist wing of the Dem party.
Burn Loot Murder lasted 7 months with 23 people shot dead, and over 150 federal buildings damaged. Antifa’s rampage has resulted in damage comparable to Hurricane Sally. Combined casualties from both groups of thugs numbered 926 as of July 2020. Anarchists took over blocks of city neighborhoods in Seattle and Portland. They’re still at it. They commit arson, assault, murder, and vandalize. They’ve destroyed businesses, livelihoods, police stations, and courthouses. Very few have been arrested and charged. No one in the Dem party or liberal media calls it insurrection or demands justice.
Contrast that with the treatment of American citizens who protested the corrupt 2020 election at the U.S. capitol.
All things considered, I couldn’t care less about Tyre Nichols, George Floyd, Trayvon Martin, or Michael Brown.
