Former FBI Director James Comey pleaded not guilty Wednesday to allegations that he lied to Congress five years ago and obstructed a criminal proceeding.
A trial date of Jan. 5, 2026 was set by U.S. District Judge Michael Nachmanoff.
Comey entered the not guilty plea through his lawyer at the federal courthouse in Alexandria, Virginia. The plea kick-starts a process of legal wrangling in which defense lawyers will almost certainly move to get the indictment dismissed before trial, possibly by arguing the case amounts to a selective or vindictive prosecution.
The two-count indictment alleges that Comey made a false statement to the Senate Judiciary Committee on Sept. 30, 2020, by denying he had authorized an associate to serve as an anonymous source to the news media and that he obstructed a congressional proceeding.
Comey has denied any wrongdoing and has said he was looking forward to a trial.
The judge randomly assigned to the case, Michael Nachmanoff, was nominated to the bench by President Joe Biden’s administration and is a former chief federal defender.
Besides Comey, the Justice Department is also investigating New York Attorney General Letitia James and Democratic Sen. Adam Schiff of California.
First, the claim of “selective or vindictive prosecution” is pretty fucking shameless since President Trump and his supporters were targeted by Biden’s weaponized government agencies for 8 years.
The Dem cabal started persecuting Donald Trump the day he came down the escalator at Trump Towers and declared his candidacy.
There’s actual evidence of an attempted coup d’état against a duly elected president with a fake dossier, illegal spying, lying to the FISA court, and a “Russian collusion hoax“. The DOJ and FBI are no longer in law enforcement. They’ve become a weaponized political tool of the DNC. They should be dismantled from the top down.
President Trump has been through the gauntlet of illegal and unconstitutional tactics by the Dems’ weaponized agencies.

James Comey, who is an unscrupulous douchebag, was part and parcel of the conspiracy to undermine the election through false allegations and sedition. He also leaked classified information when it suited his purpose and lied to the FISA court.
He conveniently ‘forgot’ to tell President Trump that the Dems paid for the fake dossier.
He lied about spying on Trump Tower.
He covered up for Hillary’s crimes.
Comey’s crimes are well documented and prosecution is long overdue.
